The Lady Chaps finished off the month of January with a 7-1 record after winning a pair of road games this week.
The Chaps first defeated Madison College Saturday night 68-54.
Madison kept it close in the first half as the Chaps went into halftime leading by just four.
But when play resumed, the Lady Chaps took over and pulled away with the fourteen point victory.
Guard Tashiana Walton lit it up from three-point land and led the Chaps with 22 points while guards Hashika Barral and Jazmin Little racked up 15 assists between the two of them.
Wednesday’s game saw more of the same as the defense held Joliet Junior College to just 38 points in the Chaps’ 66-38 victory.
The Lady Chaps are coming on strong now in the second half of the season.
They are currently on a four game winning streak and have won seven of their last eight.
This is the kind of momentum a team needs if it hopes to go deep in the playoffs.
February has arrived and there is still one month of the season left, but the Lady Chaps will look to continue their success and carry it into the postseason.
The Chaps are now 15-6 and will be back at home Saturday Feb. 2 as they try to extend their win streak to five against Milwaukee Tech.
