A student became a victim of theft in the OCC’s men’s locker room last Friday.

The victim was said to be in the men’s locker room changing when we left his locker unattended to go to the bathroom down the hall of the men’s locker room.

The victim came back after approximately five minutes to find all of his belongings on the ground and his debit card missing from his wallet along with $50 cash and a piece of paper with his pin number on it.

Between the day that the victim had his debit card stolen and the day he reported to police, he received a text message from his bank saying he had a couple thousand dollars on his account.

The victim told police that he should’ve only had around nine dollars on his account and not a couple thousand.

Police listened to the victim as he stated that there were three deposits all totaling around $3,000 to his account.

The victim’s bank said that the thief was using his card to deposit money into and withdrawal money as well.

Police advised the victimized student to cancel his account so that the thief could not use his card any longer.

There is no further information on who stole the victim’s debit card.

Jordin Gignac

This is my first year at COD and I want to get my Associates in General Studies, even though, that will probably change within this year. I graduated from Oswego East high school with the class of 2012 and worked my whole senior year at The Edge (My old student newspaper). Some of my interests include, listening to Radiohead, playing my guitar, writing poetry (or hard hitting articles) and being with my family and boyfriend of 2 years. One thing that attracted me to being involved in journalism was my urge to write about people that aren’t always noticed. Set aside from journalism, I enjoy watching films. If I can’t be in a career involving my love of literature, then I would definitely get involved in the filmmaking business. Contact Jordin news@cod.edu 630-942-2153
