COD police were notified of a student who allegedly smelled of alcohol and was identified as “drunk” last weekend according to a COD Professor.

The Professor of a Divorces and Family Mediation class reported to Police Sunday Oct. 14 that one of his students had been drinking before and during class.

When police investigated, they found five beer cans inside the BIC women’s restroom on the third floor; two inside bathroom stalls and three inside the garbage can.

Police found suspect walking back to class and asked suspect if she had been drinking.

Suspect said no at first but when police told her that they found beer cans in the restroom, Suspect confessed to having drunk beers earlier that day, the previous day and in her car.

Police searched the suspect’s car and found two more beers in the backseat inside a cooler.

The Professor told police that he did not want the Suspect back in his class and police suspended her vehicle for 12 hours and later escorted her to her residence.

Suspect has admitted to having a problem with drinking.

This is my first year at COD and I want to get my Associates in General Studies, even though, that will probably change within this year. I graduated from Oswego East high school with the class of 2012 and worked my whole senior year at The Edge (My old student newspaper). Some of my interests include, listening to Radiohead, playing my guitar, writing poetry (or hard hitting articles) and being with my family and boyfriend of 2 years. One thing that attracted me to being involved in journalism was my urge to write about people that aren’t always noticed. Set aside from journalism, I enjoy watching films. If I can’t be in a career involving my love of literature, then I would definitely get involved in the filmmaking business. Contact Jordin news@cod.edu 630-942-2153
